About Exotic Affinity

Fascinated by a brand new Ferrari?  A century-old Model T?  A luxurious Rolls-Royce?  An odd little car from a foreign country or from a brand none of your friends have heard of?  If you answered "yes" to all of the above, then you're definitely in the right place.

Launched in January 2010, Exotic Affinity is a collection of automotive videos, mostly from across Southern California, dating as far back as 2006.  New videos have been posted regularly and continue to be added at least once a week, featuring not only the modern supercars/hypercars most commonly associated with the word "exotic", but also antiques/classics, ultra-luxury cars, imports, prototypes/concepts, modified cars, and cars from obscure brands.

Back in a time when few people regularly carried cameras around and YouTube was simply a convenient means of sharing personal videos, Exotic Affinity was created for the purpose of sharing my sightings of unique cars with the world, especially with those who may not have the privilege of seeing them in person.  Unlike many of today's social media and YouTube accounts, Exotic Affinity is not (and has never been) about money, popularity, or attention.  Each video strives to accurately capture the experience being recorded, without unnecessary commentary, music, or editing, so that the focus remains exactly where it's meant to be - on the cars.  Videos include cars seen both at organized events and on public streets and usually feature an individual car or group of cars, with occasional compilations covering a particular event or place.

In recent years, the automotive world has been increasingly tainted by those who equate being a car enthusiast with showing off, obtaining status, envying what others have, and even encouraging disregard for public safety.  Unfortunately, it has become increasingly clear that YouTube has chosen to follow the footsteps of the social media platforms most associated with promoting such a culture at the expense of those who simply love and appreciate cars.  That's why this website was created.

Through this site, I hope to continue letting my videos reach an audience that truly appreciates and loves cars as artistic masterpieces, technological wonders, and historical treasures.  The site also provides a better way for me to organize the ever-growing video collection, share my thoughts on various cars, and identify types of cars that I should post more of.  In the future, I hope to add more ways to filter, sort, and search for the videos.  But that will have to wait until I'm a little better at web design!

After over a decade, Exotic Affinity remains faithful to its original vision of sharing and promoting an appreciation of unique automobiles.  It's my goal to add increasing diversity to the video collection, with cars from various classes, makes, countries, and eras - as long as they're unique and interesting enough to be considered exotic.  With over 2,000 videos featuring cars from around a hundred manufacturers and spanning a timeframe of over a century, what began as a simple hobby has now become probably one of the largest and longest-running single-sourced collections of automotive videos on YouTube.

Exotic Affinity does not encourage or request drivers to break traffic laws or drive recklessly.  Any violation of traffic laws captured in the videos was done at the driver's own discretion.

Thanks for stopping by, and hope you enjoy the videos!
