A rare silver and black 1933 Duesenberg Model J with Sport Sedan coachwork by Weymann arriving at and leaving Arcadia Park during the 2021 Holiday Motor Excursion. This bespoke car (chassis no. 2382 / engine no. J-358) was built on a short wheelbase chassis and was originally owned by Daniel Peterkin, president of Morton Salt Company, who had all its leather panels except the roof replaced with aluminum. It was later owned by former Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance judge Bill Snyder and was displayed at the Concours in 2023.

I admit I'm very blessed to have crossed paths with enough Duesenbergs that I occasionally lose track of whether a particular car, color, or body style is one I've encountered before. But this is one of those examples that simply can't be mistaken for any other. Its unique two-tone color combination and bespoke bodywork leave a deep impression from the moment you first see it. The excessively bright morning sun certainly didn't help with giving me well-balanced lighting, but it gave all the car's brightwork an even brighter - almost blindingly bright - shine. And why drive a Duesenberg if it's not going to shine?
