A rare black 1987 Lamborghini Countach LP5000 Quattrovalvole, one of 610 5000 QVs built, starting up and driving into a transporter after the 2022 Rodeo Drive Concours d'Elegance. This "Downdraft" example is equipped with six twin-barrel Weber carburetors mounted above the engine for improved cooling. Its V12 engine - the most powerful production Countach engine - produces 449 horsepower, giving the car a top speed of 183 mph.

For those of us who are old enough to remember having Countach posters on our walls, this is a truly special car, even if for no other reason than that it makes us feel like children again. It's highly impractical, it's hard to get into and see out of, and many agree that it's not even particularly good to drive. But just look at it! This car's iconic wedge shape and low profile set the standard for supercar design and continues to define the overall look of today's supercars. And just listen to it! The sound of that V12 is precisely the "vroom-vroom" that we all imagined our Hot Wheels cars sounding like as kids. Sure, you can easily spend far less money today on something faster, more comfortable, more reliable, more practical, and possibly even more attention-grabbing. But it simply wouldn't be a Countach, and for those of us who understand, it simply wouldn't be as cool.

Would you choose this Countach over a modern Lamborghini? Leave a comment on YouTube and let me know!
