Alaskan Diamond White McLaren Senna

A rare 2019 McLaren Senna arriving at and leaving Supercars at Sunset presented by Protective Film Solutions. This example, finished in Alaskan Diamond White with blue accents, is no. 213 of 500 Sennas built.

Despite the Senna's polarizing looks, McLaren had no problem selling all 500 units. With a starting price of just over $1 Million, it's actually a bargain compared to most other hypercars, including McLaren's own Elva, Sabre, and Speedtail. The Senna actually looks cool - in a sci-fi movie spaceship kind of way. It's perfect for a toy car meant to grab kids' attention at the toy store. But in real life, it looks like each part was designed by a different person and everything was simply mashed together at the end. While the car has many interesting individual elements, as a whole it looks incohesive, awkward, and, well, ugly.

To be fair, this example has an awesome spec - certainly one of the best I've seen on a Senna. There were numerous hypercars at this event, including two other Sennas, and this one clearly stood out. If you want to be noticed, the fact is people will gawk over any sleek million-dollar hypercar regardless of whether or not it's particularly good-looking. And if you want to enjoy pushing a car to its limits on the track, you can rest assured that performance is the Senna's greatest strength. It may not be pretty, but it certainly is cool.

Do you like this spec on the Senna? Leave a comment on YouTube and let me know!
