Black 2012 Audi R8 V10 Spyder

One element of car design that I consider particularly important is cohesiveness. And few cars demonstrate this better than the first-generation R8. From any angle, you can tell it was designed by the same person. Combine that with an excellent design language to begin with, and you've got yourself a perfect recipe for a rolling sculpture.
I've always thought the engine cover on the R8 Spyder (and its Gallardo Spyder sibling) looked comically long, almost like it should have been a pickup bed. But if you're going to buy a car that looks like a spaceship, why not fill that space with a huge V10? The red softtop on this example is certainly special, and I think it does a good job of contrasting with the black paint, although I'd personally opt for a red interior to match that top. Still, this is an all-around beautiful car with power and performance to match its looks. It's undoubtedly my favorite R8 generation, and I'm sure it will go down in history as a classic.
