Brand New $4 Million Bugatti Tourbillon O.C. Unveiling (Bugatti Newport Beach)

A brand new 2024 Bugatti Tourbillon being unveiled at the Bugatti Newport Beach (Newport Beach Automotive Group) Hyper Car Show after its official U.S. debut at Monterey Car Week. Introduced in June 2024 as the successor to the Chiron, the Tourbillon is named after a watch mechanism and features a hybrid powertrain with a new 8.3-liter naturally aspirated V16 engine and three electric motors producing a total of around 1,800 horsepower. Production is limited to 250 units with a starting price of over $4 million. This factory example was brought to the U.S. for its Monterey showing and made brief stops in Southern California where it was shown in Los Angeles and Orange Counties before returning to France.

I normally don't post videos of cars that aren't in motion, but this special unveiling ceremony deserves an exception. As successor to the Veyron and Chiron, the Tourbillon is a car with unusually big shoes to fill. The Veyron basically defined the hypercar genre as we know it today, and the Chiron took everything the Veyron accomplished to even higher levels. The Tourbillon's name is creative and original but still manages to end in "-on". In the same way, its design is fresh and new but still unmistakably Bugatti. That low and pointy front end looks a bit strange from some angles, though it's likely because the reshaped grille takes getting used to. Other than that, this car is incredibly sexy in pretty much every way - an amazing balance of elegance, sophistication, luxury, and performance that's impossible to find without a price tag well into the millions. It's too bad we weren't given a chance to see the interior or hear the engine running. And it's also too bad the dealership couldn't afford to spend a whopping hundred bucks on a wireless microphone so we could all hear the presentation clearly. But given that it will probably be a long time before another Tourbillon arrives in Southern California, I'm simply glad to have seized this special opportunity to catch one.

Do you think the new Bugatti Tourbillon is a worthy successor to the Veyron and Chiron? Leave a comment on YouTube and let me know!
