A brand new black 2024 Maserati GranCabrio Trofeo arriving at and leaving the Motor4Toys Charity Car Show & Toy Drive at Los Angeles Pierce College. Introduced in February 2024, the GranCabrio is the convertible version of the second-generation GranTurismo. It features a softtop that opens in 14 seconds and closes in 16 seconds and can be operated at speeds up to 31 mph. In Trofeo trim, the GranCabrio is powered by a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged Nettuno V6 engine producing 542 horsepower and has a starting price (MSRP) of $203,000.

Black tends to do a good job of hiding a car's design details. From afar, it's hard to tell that this is a brand new model. But that's also because there's no doubt it's a Maserati GranTurismo, which has maintained its beautifully sensual shape since 2007. I'm glad that for the second-generation convertible, Maserati decided to keep the GranCabrio name for the U.S. market rather than change it to "GranTurismo Convertible". We all know everything sounds way classier in Italian. (Imagine if the Quattroporte was simply called "Four-Door"!) I haven't quite made up my mind on whether the new model actually looks better than the first-generation car or simply fresher and newer, especially from the front. And $203,000 is a heck of a lot of money given the original first-generation GranTurismo started at under $120,000. But for those who can afford it, this car is certainly one of the sexiest modern Italian grand tourers money can buy.

Would you pay over $200,000 for this GranCabrio Trofeo? Leave a comment on YouTube and let me know!
