Carmen Red 1964 Jaguar E-Type Coupe (w/ startup)
A Carmen Red 1964 Jaguar E-Type (XKE) coupe starting up and leaving South OC Cars and Coffee at the Outlets at San Clemente.
European GT cars from the '60s are among the most beautiful cars of all time. But even among those cars, the Jaguar E-Type stands out as an icon, considered by none other than Enzo Ferrari himself as "the most beautiful car ever made". Thanks to that massive clamshell hood (which appears to rest dangerously close to the ground when open), the front end is largely devoid of panel gaps, resulting in an incredibly clean execution of the car's swoopy shape.
The E-Type is one of those rare cases where I can't pick whether I prefer the coupe or the convertible. A car like this is probably best enjoyed with the top down, but the sleek rear profile of the coupe is simply irresistible. (And I'm always amused by that side-opening rear hatch!) While red is more often associated with Italian cars of this era, it looks great on the Jag, giving it a more sporty flair while attracting just the right amount of attention. E-Types may not be particularly hard to find at car events, but they're a blast both to drive and to see and are sure to go up in value. This owner is certainly blessed to have the keys to such a beautiful and timeless work of art!
