David Lee's Shark Blue 2023 Porsche 911 GT3 (w/ startup)
A new Shark Blue 2023 Porsche 911 (992) GT3 from the car collection of David Lee arriving at and leaving the 2023 San Marino Motor Classic at Lacy Park.
A few decades ago, Porsche was largely associated with the color silver. Since then, it has introduced various unique hues, especially on its performance-focused models, that have become closely associated with those particular models. Think orange and green on the 997 GT3 RS, or Lava Orange on the 991 GT3 RS. When it comes to the 992 GT3, there's no doubt that color is Shark Blue. I've seen numerous current-generation GT3's and it's clear this is the most popular color choice. While it may be difficult to tell different Porsche models/variants apart due to similar styling, you can recognize a Shark Blue 992 GT3 from a block away just because of its color.
David Lee, best known in the car community for his extensive Ferrari collection, has always had a soft spot for Porsches, and he has owned a handful of highly sought-after models such as the Carrera GT and the 911 R. In a collection consisting of numerous rare classics, limited editions, bespoke creations, and seven-figure hypercars, this factory-spec Porsche almost seems out of place. But this only serves as proof that, even for those who can afford cars far more rare or expensive, the humble but capable GT3 is a highly compelling choice.
