Hand-Painted Porsche 911 Dakar Art Car from Singapore
A 2023 Porsche 911 (992) Dakar from Singapore, one of 2,500 Dakars being built, arriving at and leaving "Prebble", a Pre-Monterey (Pre-Pebble Beach) gathering at Oakley headquarters presented by Ancillary Studios in collaboration with HyperSociety. This custom art car, dubbed "DakarT", was commissioned for a customer by Singapore-based Auto Icons by Eurohaus and hand-painted by Southern California-based automotive artist Chris Dunlop (a.k.a. "Pinstripe Chris"). The design was inspired by Singaporean heritage and culture and unveiled on Singapore's 59th National Day.
The 911 Dakar is a car that simply doesn't look complete without some sort of livery. And if you agree with me that the factory "Roughroads" livery is just plain cheesy, then this car is a perfect canvas for some creativity. For the owner of this particular example, that creativity has been taken to a new level. I can't imagine how long it took to create this bespoke hand-painted (!) masterpiece, but it's sure to silence all your friends who just got new wraps on their cars. No less amazing is the fact that this car was in California and was actually being driven before returning to Singapore. Whether locally or internationally, I hope this priceless work of art continues to enjoy being driven for all to see and appreciate.
