Jeff Dunham's Street-Legal Keaton Batmobile ("Batman Returns" Movie Car)
A very rare original Batmobile from the car collection of comedian and ventriloquist Jeff Dunham leaving the Motor4Toys Charity Car Show & Toy Drive at Los Angeles Pierce College. Featured in the Warner Bros. films "Batman" (1989) and "Batman Returns" (1992) directed by Tim Burton and starring Michael Keaton as Bruce Wayne / Batman, the "Keaton Batmobile" is considered by many one of the most iconic versions of the Batmobile. This example was used as a stand-in in "Batman Returns" and is no. 3 of three Batmobiles used in the movie. It was built on two Chevrolet Impala chassis joined together and originally powered by a Chevrolet 350 Small-Block V8 engine. Dunham purchased the car in 2011 and made it legal for road use with an LS7 Corvette engine, four cameras for improved visibility, air conditioning, air suspension, and a drop-down license plate holder.
Chances are you've heard someone refer to a cool car as a Batmobile, be it a sleek supercar/hypercar or a sinister-looking custom build. And chances are if someone told you they saw a Batmobile on the road, you'd assume they were describing one of those cars. But for Jeff Dunham, driving a Batmobile really means sitting in an actual cockpit built for, well, fricking Batman. And rather than keeping the vehicle as a showpiece, he modified it so he could drive it on the street next to your mother's Corolla. Because that's what Batman would do. It's hard to pull into an event full of sleek Ferraris, loud Lambos, and wild custom builds and raise the bar of awesomeness. But nothing is impossible when you're behind the wheel of the Batmobile!
