A 2021 Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series finished in AMG Magmabeam Orange arriving at and leaving Supercars at Sunset presented by Protective Film Solutions.

Some cars will always be associated with certain colors, and that's definitely the case with the GT Black Series and AMG's Magmabeam Orange. Overly flashy it may be, but with the car's aggressive styling, monstrous grille, and rear wing big enough to eat a five-course dinner over, I think the color looks right at home. Of course, the wild bodywork isn't just for show; remember, this car did set a production car speed record at the Nürburgring. Last I checked, that's sort of a big deal.

One thing that surprises me is that unlike previous Black Series models, the GT Black Series isn't technically a limited edition car. Mercedes claims that around 1,700 examples were built; while that doesn't mean you'll see one at every intersection, it's still a significantly higher production number than any other Black Series car ever built.

I've noticed that most Black Series cars more than a few years old tend to stop appearing at events, probably because owners are choosing to preserve their value as collectibles. Only time will tell if the GT will head down the same path.

What do you think - Should Mercedes-AMG have made the GT Black Series in more limited numbers, or is the car still rare enough to be a collector's item? Leave a comment on YouTube and let me know!
