New 2023 McLaren GT in Beverly Hills
A new black 2023 McLaren GT driving in Beverly Hills.
The McLaren GT is like an often-forgotten middle child. Ever since its introduction in 2019, it has always lived in the shadows of the less expensive 570S and the faster and more aggressive 720S. And it has pretty much the most unoriginal name anybody could come up with. The GT's main selling point is its practicality, which comes in the form of a rear trunk that can carry full set of golf clubs. Its cargo space is certainly impressive for its class, but at the end of the day, a practical mid-engined supercar is still highly impractical compared to 99% of cars out there.
Still, the GT remains the most usable car in McLaren's portfolio, and it will probably hold that title for as long as it's on the market. Even as basically every competitor has announced or released SUVs or crossovers, McLaren seems bent on not offering anything with more than two doors for now (and only using doors that open upward), with any possibility of an SUV at least half a decade away. So if want to spend over $200,000 on a practical high-performance vehicle and insist on having a McLaren, the GT is definitely your best bet.
