A rare new 2024 Ferrari SF90 XX Stradale leaving the Motor4Toys Charity Car Show & Toy Drive at Los Angeles Pierce College. Introduced in June 2023, the SF90 XX is the first street-legal car in Ferrari's track-focused "XX Programme". It retains the SF90 Stradale's hybrid powertrain, consisting of a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine and three electric motors, modified to produce 1,016 horsepower. The SF90 XX features revised bodywork with a larger splitter and numerous vents and is the first Ferrari road car with a fixed rear wing since the F50. This black example is one of 799 SF90 XX coupes being built with a starting price of around $890,000.

I didn't see this car until it was leaving the event, and apparently I wasn't the only one left scratching my head; several others commented they didn't see it arrive and had no clue it was there. Our best guess is that the owner entered through an alternate path, which is unfortunate since this is a new and rare model that most have never seen before.

It's interesting how Ferrari chose not to give this track-focused variant a proper-sounding name like "Competizione", "Scuderia", or "Speciale". Yes, the XX moniker indicates it belongs with the best of the brand's track machines. But slapping X's on a name to make it sound cool is something that seems more fit for the adult film industry than for a car. As expected from a track-focused variant, the SF90 XX trades the base model's simpler lines for an aggressive look with a bunch of vents and a huge wing. And by pushing even more horses out of the SF90's hybrid powertrain, Ferrari leaves no doubt that it remains fully committed to maximizing the potential of electrified performance.

Do you think the SF90 XX is worthy of Ferrari's XX moniker? Leave a comment on YouTube and let me know!
