Rare 1972 Rolls-Royce Phantom VI Mulliner Park Ward Limousine
A rare 1972 Rolls-Royce Phantom VI with Limousine bodywork by Mulliner Park Ward, one of 374 Phantom VIs built between 1968 and 1990, arriving at and leaving the 2022 San Marino Motor Classic at Lacy Park, where it won First in Class and Most Elegant Post War Closed Car.
It's hard to believe the Phantom VI was produced for over two decades. The car proudly carried its Silver Cloud-based design all the way into the early '90s when the final chassis was built. It looks like a massively enlarged Silver Cloud, and its generous proportions and huge Rolls-Royce grille ensure that everyone will know you're someone special. Unfortunately, there aren't many worse ways to announce your arrival at a glamorous Concours event than to break down right at the entrance. But I guess that's the cost of owning an old Rolls. The event staff were well-prepared for a morning workout, and by the end of the show the car was once again running on its own power.
