Rare 580-hp Yellow Ruf CTR2 Sport (Porsche 993 Turbo)
A very rare yellow Ruf CTR2 Sport, one of less than 30 CTR2s built (12 of which were Sport models), arriving at and leaving Cars and Coffee at Finish Line Auto Club. Based on the Porsche 993 Turbo, the CTR2 was the successor to Ruf's record-setting CTR ""Yellowbird"". The Sport model featured wider fenders, upgraded suspension, and a modified 3.6-liter twin-turbocharged flat-six engine producing 580 horsepower.
Here's a car that, in my opinion, deserves more recognition. It was the direct successor to the legendary CTR "Yellowbird", which set the fastest production car record and established Ruf as a world-class automaker. But succeeding a legend also means it's easy to end up hidden in the shadows. The CTR2 successfully carried its predecessor's baton with a top speed bested only by the mighty McLaren F1. Despite looking like a beefed-up Porsche, it was manufactured by Ruf with a unique Ruf VIN and was most often compared to cars like the Bugatti EB110, the Jaguar XJ220, and the aformentioned F1.
In case you were wondering, yes, this car is from the same collection as the CTR and CTR3 briefly caught in the video. Its yellow paint is fitting for a car whose predecessor's well-established nickname was derived from the same color. Each of the three cars is unique in its own way, so if you have the money, why pick just one when you can have all three?
