Rare Aston Martin Rapide AMR Getting Gas at Costco
A rare 2019 Aston Martin Rapide AMR, one of 210 Rapide AMRs built, filling up gas at Costco. Originally introduced as a concept at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show, the AMR had a starting price (MSRP) of $240,000 and was the final variant of the Rapide. It features numerous upgrades including revised styling with circular daytime running lights, carbon fiber exterior components, 21-inch wheels, Alcantara seats, standard carbon ceramic brakes, reengineered suspension, and a modified 6.0-litre naturally aspirated V12 engine producing around 600 horsepower. This example is equipped with the Signature design scheme, a $20,000 package consisting of Stirling Green paint with Lime accents, racing stripe, and interior stitching.
It's not easy to get rich, but it's also not easy to stay rich. Just like the rest of us peasants, many wealthy people look for practical ways to save money, including shopping at Costco. There's plenty of debate over whether the time spent waiting in Costco's notoriously long gas lines and the fuel burned while idling is actually worth the savings. I generally avoid the problem by filling up in early morning hours, but I think it's safe to say the answer is yes given the fuel efficiency of most modern vehicles - that is, unless your car has a 600-horsepower V12. This owner clearly has the financial means of filling up at Shell conveniently located right across the street, and his time can probably be better spent doing something more meaningful than waiting in a long line. But hey, maybe it's fun to experience life like a peasant once in a while, especially when you're sitting behind the wheel of a rare quarter-million-dollar Aston Martin!
