When the production Bugatti Veyron first wowed the automotive world around two decades ago, its seven-figure price tag left no doubt that it was designed for those to whom money was not a problem and anything less than the absolute best was unacceptable. But while used Veyrons still command an insanely high price today and offer performance few cars can rival, their maintenance needs leave many owners scratching their heads. There are numerous articles documenting the mind-boggling costs of keeping a Veyron running, and among the most cited items are the factory wheels and tires, the replacement of which will cost more than what many people spend on a brand new car. That's why more and more Veyrons now sit on custom wheels. Yes, it may partly be just to look cool and stand out. But unless you plan to actually take the car to a track and test its limits, you'll enjoy it just as much with a set of quality aftermarket wheels and still have a truckload of leftover cash at your disposal.
