Rare Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Squadra Corse
A very rare yellow (Giallo Midas) Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Squadra Corse, one of 50 Squadra Corses built (15 of which were for the U.S.), arriving at and leaving Lamborghini Newport Beach's Supercar Show. Introduced at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, the Squadra Corse was a street-legal version of the Gallardo LP570-4 Super Trofeo race car and was equipped with the race car's 562-hp V10 engine along with a fixed rear wing and a removable quick-release engine cover.
It's unfortunate that modern carmakers often resort to cranking out over a dozen variants of the same model in order to maintain relevance. But there's something special about having one of the last and rarest iterations in a significant model's life cycle. And it doesn't hurt that the Squadra Corse happens to be one of the most extreme, too. If you're looking for the closest thing you can get to a factory street-legal Gallardo race car, this is the perfect car for you.
With over 14,000 units built, Gallardos aren't particularly hard to find, especially at car events. But the Squadra Corse is one that definitely won't get spotted often, especially now that it's about a decade old and most examples are probably stored away in private collections. It may be a while before Gallardos become highly sought after, but I have no doubt this version will be among the most desirable and valuable.
