Rare Porsche 911 Carrera GTS B59 Edition (1 of 5 built)
A very rare 2012 Porsche 911 (997.2) Carrera GTS B59 Edition leaving Cars in the Canyon at Oak Canyon Park. The B59 Edition was built by Porsche Exclusive to commemorate Brumos Racing driver Hurley Haywood who won the 24 Hours of Daytona in 1991. It features Carrara White paint with red and blue Brumos Racing livery, black mirrors, 19" Sport Classic Fuchs-style wheels, and black interior with blue and red stitching and Guards Red seat belts. The car is powered by the Carrera GTS' 408-horsepower 3.8-liter flat-six engine and is equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission, PASM (Porsche Active Suspension Management), carbon ceramic brakes, and Sport Chrono Package Plus. This example is no. 3 of five B59 Editions built, each of which are autographed by Hurley Haywood.
Here's a rare Porsche that even many Porsche enthusiasts may not recognize. Yes, it's "just" a Carrera GTS. But it's also rare enough to make other limited production 911s seem like Corollas. I hadn't heard of the B59 edition until I was informed that one would be displayed at this event. And I'm glad I learned about it ahead of time so I didn't dismiss the car as an ordinary 911 with cool custom graphics. The owner brings it out to numerous car events and I'm glad she enjoys letting others get a chance to see this rare piece of Porsche history.
