Yellow Maserati GranTurismo Sport in Beverly Hills

I'll start by stating the obvious - the GranTurismo is a really sexy car. Depending on your choice of spec or trim level, it can easily express what you consider a perfect balance of elegance and aggressiveness. Yes, 12 years was far too long for any modern car to remain in production, and I'm glad Maserati finally found the courage to axe it from its lineup in 2019. But the fact that its upcoming successor still retains a profile largely carried over from the original car introduced in 2007 proves that the design has clearly stood the test of time.
With a starting price of around $110,000 (in its early years), a Ferrari V8 under the hood, and bodywork showcasing some of the best features of Italian design, it's no surprise the GranTurismo was so popular. I believe this example is a GranTurismo Sport, introduced in 2012 with a more agressive front bumper, though it's hard to be a hundred percent sure since many GranTurismo owners retrofitted their cars with Sport bumpers. The color is definitely unique; I'm not sure if this is a wrap or factory paint, but of the countless GranTurismos I've encountered over the years, this was one of the only yellow ones. And in a place like Beverly Hills where streets are filled with six-figure cars (several of which appear in this video - can you name them all?), it certainly does a good job of standing out.
You can easily find a used older GranTurismo now for under $40,000 (or $50,000-60,000 for a 2016 Sport like this one) - a bargain for such a sexy car, though I imagine the bragging rights of having Ferrari components also means costly maintenance. Still, ask people who doesn't know cars to guess how old this car is, and some may actually think it's brand new. You can't say that about a lot of cars that began production 15 years ago.
What do you think - Will the GranTurismo's timeless looks and more-than-potent performance help it become a future classic? Leave a comment on YouTube and let me know!
